How It Works
Botox is made of botulinum toxin type A. When injected into the muscle creating the wrinkle, Botox works by blocking the nerve signals to the muscle, stopping the muscle from contracting. With the muscle temporarily paralyzed, the wrinkle on the surface is reduced or disappears.
When Will You See Results? How Long Will The Results Last?
Botox is a quick treatment to perform and can be done in 15 minutes or less! Results can be seen as early as 3 to 5 days, with the full impact of treatment at two weeks. The effects of Botox will last for about three to four months. As the Botox is absorbed, muscle action will slowly return, and with it, the lines and wrinkles caused by those muscles. What Precautions Should You Take After Your Botox procedure?
For four hours after treatment, you need to keep your head and neck upright. Do not bend over, lie flat, or place your head against a pillow. Allow at least four hours before touching, pressing, or manipulating the treated areas.
